CatchEmo, a diary app helps users easily capture brief moments of the present.
Mental health is becoming more and more important in a rapid pace of modern life. One of the ways to keep sane is through being mindful of the present.
Project duration: 8 Hours
It is a very delicate thing to record the user's mood changes, and this process cannot be made very cumbersome, otherwise the experience will also affect the user's mood.
So I decided to design the recording page in one card, which can be added in iOS widget or Android flow window.
Emotions need to be recorded intuitively, and both words and pictures can help express emotions better. It is very important to accurately capture emotional changes in a certain period of time.
It is important to monitor users’ life patterns and identify what triggers the bad moods. This way, users will be able to avoid such “triggers” and live a happier life. If users know their triggers, they can develop a workable plan to minimize their presence in life.
There are six steps from start to finish. By setting prompts to display and record the user's mood at a moment, Users can achieve the same goal through widget on the home screen.
The user can choose the time interval for capturing emotions (increase or decrease by half an hour each time), and set the capture time range to avoid affecting sleep.
There are two quick and convenient ways to capture, the first is to add Widgets on the screen, and the second is to quickly capture by pop-up the banner.
If the user does not want to add, they can skip this step directly.
This is how users look on their phone, the Widget and notification banner. If the user has not recorded their mood for a long time, the widget and prompt will turn red.
If users have Apple Watch can also quickly slide the emoji to choose to record the mood of the moment.
It seemed difficult to complete a design challenge in eight hours, but after I tried it I didn't find it difficult and I learned a lot of techniques to get feedback and design quickly. Doing some user research, competitor analysis and user test in a short period of time help me to take the challenge to the next level.
